The Rev. Dr. Warren D. Wilcox, Jr. is the Founding Pastor of the Dunamis Life Church in Camden, New Jersey. He serves the Coordinator of Chaplaincy Services for the New Jersey Department of Corrections. He also serves on the executive board of the Koinonia Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the Bishop Ernest C. Morris, Sr. On the national level of the Church of God in Christ, he serve as a Coordinator of the COGIC Prison Ministry under the leadership of Dr. Milton Rochford.
Dr. Warren D. Wilcox, Jr.’s preparation for ministry began through the nurture and ministry of his home church in Camden, New Jersey: Victory Temple Community Church of God in Christ. He received his undergraduate degree in Social Work from the Temple University where he earned a full student-athletic scholarship to play football. He received his Master of Divinity degree from Charles H. Mason Theological Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at the Grady Memorial Hospital and the Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta, GA. He planted and served as pastor at a local church in Stone Mountain, GA. for re-location back to New Jersey.
Upon his return to New Jersey, he was hired as a full-time correctional chaplain at the New Jersey Department of Corrections’ (NJDOC) Riverfront State Prison in Camden, NJ. Two years after his start date, he was promoted to Supervisor of Chaplaincy and Volunteer Services at the Riverfront State Prison. Also upon his return to New Jersey, he was appointed by Bishop Ernest C. Morris, Sr. to serve in various positions within the Koinonia Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ: Chairman of the Ordination & Licensure Board; Pastor of the Dunamis Life Cathedral Church of God in Christ; Superintendent of an ecclesiastical district of churches. During this time, he was once again promoted within the NJDOC to serve as Coordinator of Chaplaincy Services and Supervisor of the Chaplaincy Network Mentoring Program. Through serving in this various capacities of ministry in both ecclesiastical and institutional settings at the same time, God was proving and enabling Dr. Warren D. Wilcox, Jr. to effectively help others in various areas of ministry. In May of 2014, Dr. Wilcox received his earned Doctor of Ministry degree in Metro-Urban Ministry from the New Brunswick Theological Seminary.
Dr. Warren D. Wilcox, Jr.’s ministry today is one marked by persistence, prudence, passion, power, practicality and a commitment to both empowerment and service. It is his hope to seek, share, and serve the Lord and His servant-leaders – all to the glory of God.
Dr. Warren D. Wilcox, Jr. resides in Camden County, New Jersey with his wife, The Rev. Saki H. Wilcox and their three children.
